The competition requiered to design a temporary pavilion in the garden of Elisabeta Palace in Bucharest.
The main challenge was to create a temporary structure that could easily adapt to the different events held at the palace, as well to create a suitable design that would resemble the archtiecture of the palace.
The solution we proposed was a wood structure with a simple rectangular layout organised with sliding and rotating panels which divide the space according to the needs;
The name of the chessboard is given by the scope of the hosts, the guests and the issues discussed in the pavilion.
